The Centrist Reform Alliance (CRA) decided Wednesday to effectively disband, with lawmakers who were previously members of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (CDP) set to form a new party while those from Komeito return to their original party.

CRA leader Junya Ogawa confirmed the plan after meeting with party lawmakers and attending an extraordinary executive meeting on the same day.?

“We will not lower the flag we have raised or abandon our goal of expanding and strengthening centrist reform forces,” he said at a news conference. “With a unified parliamentary caucus at the core, we are determined to carry that effort into every aspect of our political work, from parliamentary coordination to electoral cooperation and campaigning.”
