Yomiuri Giants legend Hideki Matsui, who was known for his slugging prowess in Japan before embarking on a successful career in MLB, will manage the NPB team next season.
Matsui is one of the most famous players in the history of the Giants, Japanese baseball’s most popular franchise.
“I’m happy to take over this team and be involved at the start of building the Giants of the future,” Matsui said during his introductory news conference on Friday.
